Canadian Scholarships with January 2025 Deadlines

1. Schulich Leader Scholarships
Deadline: January 29, 2025 (for high school nomination)
Amount: $120,000
Who is this scholarship for? This is a STEM scholarship for Canadian students. Applicants must be nominated by their high school. Students must also be set to graduate high school or cégep in the 2024/2025 academic year. Additionally students have to:
- Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program
- Display the following:
- Academic excellence;
- Leadership, charisma, and creativity.
- Strong consideration is given to entrepreneurial-minded students planning to pursue a career in:
- Technology;
- Engineering;
- Entrepreneurship and business enterprise;
- Applied scientific research.
From the Scholarship Donor: Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships. One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000* for science and math scholarships. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.

2. CSA Group Undergraduate Research Scholarship
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Amount: $6,000
Who is this scholarship for? To be eligible for this prize, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Students must be enrolled in their second year or higher for full-time studies in a degree program at the undergraduate level at an accredited Canadian university or college;
- Students enrolled in a certificate or diploma program are not eligible for this scholarship;
- Students enrolled in a professional (e.g. MD, DDS) or graduate program are not eligible for this scholarship;
- Eligibility is limited to enrollment at publicly-funded, accredited Canadian
universities and colleges.
From the Scholarship Donor: The purpose of the CSA Group Undergraduate Research Scholarship is to support undergraduate students in the pursuit of novel research related to standards. The research is to be conducted over a summer term under the direct supervision of an academic advisor. Undergraduate degree students studying at a publicly-funded, accredited Canadian college or university in their second year of study or higher are eligible to apply.
The research can be conducted in any field (e.g., engineering, social sciences, health sciences) and must include standards as a central component of the research. The research may investigate aspects of an existing standard or may explore an area for future standards development. The topic does not need to be related to an area where CSA Group already has standards.

3. Scotiabank Scholarship
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Amount: $30,000
Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship is open to domestic and international students. To be eligible, students must:
- Be 17 years of age or older.
- Be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution by January 31, 2025.
- Reside in Canada as of January 31, 2025.
- Fill in the contest entry form.
From the Scholarship Donor: It’s not every day, or we should say semester, that you have a chance to win an A+ prize like this. With the Scotia Funds Your Future Contest, there are two $30,000 prizes to be won, 1 prize for domestic students and 1 prize for international students. Whether you are a new or existing customer, the more products you have, the more entries you earn, up to a maximum of 6 entries per person.

4. Gulab Oils Visual Art Scholarship Program
Deadline: January 15, 2025
Amount: $5,000
Who is this scholarship for? This visual art scholarship is open to students in Australia, Canada, and the USA who meet these additional criteria:
- Be 18 years of age.
- Have a 3.9 cumulative GPA.
- Be accepted to an academic institution with visual arts focus.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia, Canada, or the U.S.
- Must enroll for at least two consecutive semesters.
- Possess six months of experience in related industry.
- Be enrolled in a full-time program.
- Show interest in visual arts.
- Open to graduating high school students or current undergraduates.
From the Scholarship Donor: Visual arts are mostly a collection of art forms such as painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, filmmaking, design, crafts, and architecture, which appeal to the sense of sight. These art forms are not merely for pleasure but are also used by business houses to make their products into iconic brands and popularise them among the masses using aesthetic packaging and promotions. A lot of students have immense talent in one or multiple art forms, and they can grow into great artists if given the proper guidance. Here comes the utility of Gulab Oils’ Visual Art Scholarship Program as it will enable budding artists to hone their skills and gain the required knowledge by availing proper training with the reward amount.

5. Mensa Canada Scholarship Programme
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Amount: From $1,000 to $2,500
Who is this scholarship for? Applicants must meet the following eligibility rules, in addition to others:
- 2024 – 2025 applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants enrolled in a full-time program at a Canadian post-secondary institution, accredited by the applicable provincial Ministry of Education, during the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
- Full-time is defined as determined by the Canadian post-secondary institution which the applicant attends.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old on January 31, 2025.
- Awards are based on applicant’s essay.
- Essays may be written either in English or in French. Only one essay is accepted per applicant.
From the Scholarship Donor: By writing your career plan and describing the means you undertake to achieve your goals, you may earn a scholarship of $1,000 – $2,500. The Mensa Canada Scholarship Programme wishes to reward students who follow through with their career strategy. To apply, need only to review our rules and criteria, and to submit a 250-word essay. You do not need to be a member of Mensa Canada to apply for a scholarship.

6. Young Scholars Program by Take a Pain Check
Deadline: January 2025
Amount: $2,500
Who is this scholarship for?This scholarship is open to any STEM student in Canada living with a rheumatic disease. We are looking for applicants who are pursuing academic excellence, breaking barriers, and embracing life beyond their disability.
From the Scholarship Donor: In 2023, we created the Stem Without Limits scholarship for post-secondary STEM students in Canada. Moving forward, we plan to offer more bursaries to young scholars, and to continue our annual STEM Without Limits scholarship. Through new scholarship programs, we aim to include more scholars from different backgrounds representing different rheumatic diseases and parts of the community. We are eager to launch a network and platform for young scholars living with disabilities to receive awards and opportunities.

7. Frank M. Snowden Jr. Undergraduate Scholarships
Deadline: January 20, 2025
Amount: $4,500
Who is this scholarship for? Those eligible are members of historically underrepresented ethnic and racial groups in the United States and Canada, for example, students who are of African descent, Latinx, Asian or Asian American, Pacific Islander, and of Indigenous descent (Native American, Inuit, Canadian First Peoples.)
From the Scholarship Donor: The Committee on Diversity in the Profession of the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) invites applications from undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups across North America for scholarships to be awarded for Summer 2025. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree-granting program at the time of their application. The purpose of the scholarships is to further students’ study of classics or classical archaeology with opportunities not available during the school year. Eligible proposals might include (but are not limited to) participation in classical summer programs or field schools in the Mediterranean or language training at institutions in the U.S., Canada, or Europe.

8. Undergraduate Spencer Scholarship
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Amount: $5,000 to $10,000
Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship asks for the following from applicants:

Must seek a career in Risk Management, Insurance, and/or Actuarial Science.

Must be enrolled at an accredited college/university in the United States and Canada for at least one full academic year (two semesters).

Preferred (but not required): Majoring/minoring in Risk Management/Insurance or a related field of study (e.g., actuarial science, business, finance, information technology, etc.)

Preferred (but not required): Relevant work/internship experience and leadership skills.
From the Scholarship Donor: Risk Management and Insurance students are at the heart of everything Spencer does! Spencer awards Undergraduate, Graduate, and Ph.D. scholarships to students studying at institutions in the United States and Canada and part-time Graduate scholarships to Risk Management & Insurance professionals continuing their education.

9. Dick Martin Scholarship Award
Deadline: January 31, 2025
Amount: $3,000
Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship is available to full-time and part-time students who:
- Are enrolled in an occupational health and safety related course or program leading to an occupational health and safety certificate, diploma or degree at an accredited college or university in Canada.
- Programs include mine safety, occupational or industrial health and safety, industrial hygiene, safety management or other related safety degree program.
From the Scholarship Donor: The CCOHS Council of Governors established this scholarship fund in 2002 in the memory of Dick Martin, a tireless health and safety advocate and a pioneer of workplace health and safety in Canada.

10. WellBefore $3,000 Scholarship Program
Deadline: January 4, 2025
Amount: $3,000
Who is this scholarship for? To qualify, students must be enrolled in an accredited university within the United States or Canada. High school students accepted to university programs are also eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be a legal resident of the United States/Canada or a holder of a valid student visa.
- Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate program in an accredited US university or college.
