10 February Scholarships for Canadian Students in 2025

February is a great month to apply for scholarships. However, finding scholarships can seem like a difficult task. 

To help you or your student pay for tuition and education expenses, we’ve created a list of ten February scholarships for 2025. In the list, you’ll find specific deadlines, award amounts, application requirements, and a few details about each prize. Before applying, always check eligibility criteria because they differ for every award. 

It’s also important to know that there are different types of scholarships. Understanding this can help you find scholarships better suited to your or your student’s profile. As well, knowing the kind of scholarship you’re applying for can better position you to meet the expectations of a scholarship committee

Now, let’s get to some prizes that can help you or your student graduate with less debt and more career opportunities!

List of February Scholarships

1. Kin Canada Bursary

Deadline: February 1, 2025

Amount: $1,000

Who is Eligible? To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Plan to register as a full-time student in the 2025-2026 school year at a recognized post-secondary institution (e.g. University, College, Trade School, Technical Institute).
  • Demonstrate high ideals, community involvement and knowledge of Kin, and
  • Not have previously received a Kin Canada Bursary.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: Kin Canada Bursaries was established in 1994 by Kin Canada as a legacy to its Founder, Harold Allin Rogers, O.C., O.B.E. (1899-1994) and is funded by Kinsmen and Kinettes across Canada. The program was established to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities, by providing financial assistance in the amount of $1000 to successful applicants in their quest for higher learning at a recognized post-secondary institution.

2. SME Education Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: February 1, 2025

Amount: Awards range from $2,500 to $20,000

Who is Eligible? The SME Education Foundation annually awards millions of dollars in scholarships to graduating high school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students pursuing two-year, four-year or advanced degrees in manufacturing or engineering. Specifically, this award is open to:

  • Graduating high school seniors or current post-secondary students
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related discipline
  • Attending accredited college or university in the United States or Canada
  • Permanent resident or citizen of the United States, Canada, or possess a student visa
  • Full-time or part-time student

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: With more than 60 distinct scholarship programs, the Foundation provides merit and need-based scholarships, issues renewing and one-time awards, and seeks applications from all eligible students, including but not limited to young women and underrepresented communities. The Foundation has awarded 18 million to over 5,000 future industry leaders since 2005 and awards nearly a million dollars in scholarships each year.

3. Jim Roberts Scholarship

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Amount: $2,000

Who is Eligible? This scholarship is awarded annually to a student currently enrolled in an environmental program at any accredited university or college in the United States, its territories or Canada.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: Jim Roberts passed away in November 2007. To memorialize his contributions to National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) and the environmental profession in general, a group of his friends and associates convened at the 2008 NAEP Annual Conference in San Diego, California and formed the Jim Roberts Memorial Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is the result of the work of that committee.

4. Indspire Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries, Scholarships, and Awards

Deadline: February 1, 2025

Amount: Various Award Amounts

Who is Eligible? This collection of scholarships is available for First Nation, Inuit, and Métis students. 

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: Successful futures are created through hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Each one of us has a unique potential to achieve, and for First Nation, Inuit, and Métis students, Indspire is here to help make that happen. Indspire provides hundreds of scholarships, bursaries and awards to thousands of Indigenous students every year!

5. ISC2 Undergraduate / Associate Scholarships

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Amount: 20 Awards Between $1,000 and $5,000

Who is Eligible? This scholarship is open to graduating high school students and undergraduate students who meet the following additional requirements: 

  • Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field in the fall of 2025.
  • Must be pursuing an associates or undergraduate degree in 2025. 
  • GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
  • May be attending on campus or online.
  • May be attending full-time or part-time.
  • You do not currently need to be enrolled, however no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.
  • Open to international students.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: ISC2 and its Center for Cyber Safety and Education are deeply committed to encouraging and supporting students pursuing a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance, or similar field. The scholarships, sponsored by ISC2, support students globally. Efforts like these can put students on a pathway to long term career success in a rewarding and critically-important field.

6. ISC2 Women’s Scholarships

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Amount: 10 Awards Between $1,000 and $5,000

Who is Eligible? This award is open to:

  • Must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field in the fall of 2025.
  • Must be pursuing an associates, undergraduate, graduate, or post graduate degree in 2025. 
  • GPA must be at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or an analogous rank based on a comparable scale).
  • May be attending on campus or online.
  • May be attending full-time or part-time.
  • Open to international students.
  • You do not currently need to be enrolled, however no awards will be disbursed until the recipient is enrolled in a college or university.

7. Ad Standards Scholarships

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Amount: 2 Awards of $1,500

Who is Eligible? This award is open to:

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in an advertising or marketing program at a Canadian university or college. 
  • One scholarship is awarded to a student from an English post-secondary institution and from a French post-secondary institution. 
  • Successful applicants display a commitment to volunteerism, a record of academic excellence, and an interest in pursuing a career in advertising or marketing.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: The Ad Standards Scholarship honors Robert E. Oliver, our organization’s first president and a pioneer of Canadian advertising self-regulation. He played a key role in developing the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards, sat on various charity boards, and was an accomplished educator.

Scholarship directory to help students win money for college or university

8. Transportation Association of Canada Scholarships

Deadline: February 28, 2025

Amount: Several awards between $2,500 and $6,000

Who is Eligible? This scholarship is open to students who meet the following requirements:

  • Must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Must be enrolled at a post-secondary institution (university or college) in an academic program related to, and hope to pursue a career in, the planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance and program management of road and highway infrastructure and urban transportation. This includes, but isn’t limited to, civil and transportation engineering.
  • Must be enrolled in at least two semesters of full-time studies from September 2025 through August 2026, and have completed at least 50% of their current degree by September 2025.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: In 2025, the TAC Foundation is pleased to offer students the opportunity to apply for scholarships valuing between $2500 and $6000. The scholarships are intended to help support their post-secondary education in transportation-related studies.

The scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant’s specific transportation goals, academic record and transportation-related activities or job skills.

9. Co-Operative Housing Federation of Toronto Diversity Scholarship

Deadline: February 13, 2025

Amount: Various Awards at $5,000 Each

Who is Eligible? This scholarship is open to Canadian students who:

  • live in a CHFT member co-op.
  • plan to attend a publicly funded, Canadian
    community college or university or
    graduate program or approved apprentice
    training program on a full-time basis in the
    2025/2026 academic year.
  • have used their knowledge and
    understanding of diversity to make a
    positive contribution to their school and/or
    local community.
  • have a demonstrated financial need.

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: The program is for people living in CHFT member housing co-ops. An important element of the scholarship is the strong commitment to diversity shown by the applicants in their communities. Students are awarded their scholarships largely based on their community involvement in their schools, co-op communities and in a variety of community based organizations. To date people from over 116 co-ops have won scholarships.

10. The Cmolik Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: February 7, 2025

Amount: 20 scholarships up to $45,000

Who is Eligible? To be eligible for this bursary, students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be a current resident of BC
  • Have lived in Canada for at least 7 years
  • Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate
  • Have demonstrated financial need
  • Have faced adversity
  • Plan to be a full-time student
  • Be ineligible for the BC Tuition Waiver Program (for former youth in care)
  • Use funding for a post-secondary institution or college
  • Be endorsed by their school principal

From the Scholarship Donor’s Website: While a post-secondary education can be life-changing, it’s a goal that’s out of reach for many students. We’re trying to change that. Every year, we award up to 20 scholarships, each one a maximum of $45,000 paid over five years of study, to students graduating from BC high schools. Scholarship recipients have faced adversity but have responded with positivity and tenacity, achieving academic and social goals. With hard work and support, their post-secondary dreams can become a reality.
