List of August Scholarships: 2024

1. Driver Education Initiative Award

Deadline: August 1, 2024

Amount: $500

Who is this scholarship for? Applicants must be currently enrolled in either High School, University or College. Employees and relatives of National Driving and Traffic School are ineligible. There will be three contest submission dates.

The winner will be required to provide proof of successful acceptance to a Higher Institute of Learning, College or University. Payment will be made directly to the applicant’s college. If you have additional questions, please contact us. This contest is open to all students in U.S., Canada, and abroad.

From the Scholarship Donor: National Driving and Traffic School is proud to announce their 2024 scholarship opportunity, entitled “In the Driver’s Seat.” The company is seeking to reward essay applicants $10,000 in scholarships- for students  entering college or already enrolled in a higher education institution – on the topic of being a safer driver.

2. Financial Literacy Scholarship Canada

Deadline: August 31, 2024

Amount: $750

Who is this scholarship for? To be considered for the Loans Canada Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (Not available in Quebec).
  • Be 30 years old or younger.
  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrolment as a full-time or part-time student in the academic year at an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Must certify that all information provided on your application form is accurate.
  • Complete the application form on this page.

Financial literacy is a lifelong commitment, and we want to encourage students to be mindful about their relationship with money early on in their lives.

For this reason, Loans Canada and KOHO are together awarding two (2) lucky students a scholarship of $750 twice a year. That is a total of CA $3,000 over the school year!

3. Haywood Hunt 7th Annual Scholarship

Deadline: August 31, 2024

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship is open to students who meet the following requirements: 

  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or other legal standing that allows them to study in Canada.
  • Accepted or enrolled in a Canadian college or university for the 2024/2025 school year.

4. Castagra Roofing Scholarship Program

Deadline: August 30, 2024

Amount: $1,500 USD and runner-up will receive a $500 student award

Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship contest is available to students who are:

  • Pursuing a post-secondary education in college or vocational programs** in roofing or a similar field. Similar field must be applicable to the building industry (construction, waterproofing, etc.)
  • Passionate about innovation and/or sustainability
  • An American or Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Castagra Products, Inc. employees and their family members are ineligible

From the Scholarship Donor: This program was developed to support individuals pursuing a career in roofing (or a similar field), who are passionate about innovation and/or sustainability.

5. The 2024 Tamara Gordon Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: August 2, 2024

Amount: From $750 to $3,000

Who is this scholarship for? This scholarship award will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria: 

    • Be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant with a permanent physical disability;
    • Reside in the province of Ontario;
    • Be enrolled in a program at an Ontario University that is a member of Universities Canada or one of Ontario’s 24 Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology for the 2024/2025 academic year;
    • Be a Grade 12 student in the province of Ontario, or a student already enrolled in a post-secondary program and looking to advance to either year 2, 3, 4;
    • Demonstrate a strong academic record;
    • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

From the Scholarship Donor: The Tamara Gordon Foundation (TGF) was established in 2013, to assist students with permanent physical disabilities who wish to pursue the completion of an educational field of study. The Tamara Gordon Foundation Scholarship assists recipients to defray a portion of the costs to complete their post-secondary education. TGF Scholarships are competitive, and therefore awarded based on academic standing and volunteer contributions within the community. These are significant factors in the decision making of the Selection Committee. 

6. Bill 7 Award

Deadline: August 2, 2024

Amount: Several awards of $4,000 each

Who is this scholarship for?  To be eligible to receive a Bill 7 Award scholarship, individuals must also meet all  of the following three criteria:

  • You are attending or accepted by a Post-Secondary Educational Institution in the Province of Ontario;
  • You are pursuing your first  post-secondary program of study;
  • You identify as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, two-spirited or queer (LGBTQ).

From the Scholarship Donor:  The Bill 7 Award Trust was established in 1987 to provide post-secondary education scholarships to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited or queer (LGBTQ) students with demonstrated financial need who are pursuing a first degree, diploma or certification in any Ontario post-secondary institution.

The Bill 7 Award is named after the 1986 Ontario legislation that extended the protection of the Human Rights Code to lesbians and gays.

7. Pharmica International Scholarship Program

Deadline: August 12, 2024

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for?  To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old, or be able to provide written permission from a parent or guardian if you are under 18.
  • In good academic standing with your current educational institution, with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate program starting or continuing in the 2024-2025 academic year, at an accredited North American college or university.

Who is this scholarship for?  This student scholarship has two basic requirements. Applicants must: 

  1. Have a GPA of 2.5 or the equivalent in your country’s grading system.
  2. Be a current student at the time of application and when the scholarship is awarded.

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for?  This scholarship is open to all high school and college students who will be attending an accredited college or university in 2024. Students must follow all instructions and agree to Rustic Pathways’ Scholarship Agreement.

From the Scholarship Donor: Rustic Pathways empowers students to positively impact lives and communities around the world through its innovative and responsible travel experiences. Rustic Pathways offers a $1,000 scholarship to a high school or college student attending an accredited college or university in 2024.
